ABOUT THE GALLERY

Abigail Ogilvy Gallery exhibits contemporary art with a heavy emphasis on concept-driven artwork by emerging to mid-career artists located across the country and internationally. The gallery primarily focuses on paintings but also exhibits a range of other media including photography, sculpture, mixed media, digital prints, drawings, and much more. Owner Abigail Ogilvy Ryan founded the Boston gallery in 2015 and opened the LA location in 2023. Abigail Ogilvy Gallery x LA provides a platform for new perspectives and education through independent curation and artist partnerships. The collaborative approach upends the traditional gallery model and aims to enhance the careers of artists, curators, collectors, and other art world professionals, both emerging and established. With spaces in Boston and LA, AOG provides a link between creative communities on the coasts and expands the reach of artists who have not yet been recognized or shown in these areas. The gallery program primarily features guest curators in order to share diverse perspectives and voices with the Los Angeles area and the greater art market. AOG is committed to showing a wide range of artistic ideas and media.

We are currently not accepting artist submissions.

FOUNDER

Abigail Ogilvy Ryan opened the gallery in 2015 with the belief in supporting artists by providing opportunities that push their careers forward and inspire lifelong learning. For the past eight years she has maintained the mission of building community and advancing leadership of women and under-represented groups by utilizing the gallery space for public and private events that promote open dialogue. Ogilvy hopes to build a more equitable world by creating unseen possibilities and making new connections for the gallery artists. She is the Global Chapter Chair of the Association of Women Art Dealers, a member of the Boston Art Dealers Association, and a member of ArtTable.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

Kaylee Hennessey is the Assistant Director at Abigail Ogilvy Gallery. She graduated from Massachusetts College of Art and Design with a degree in Art History and Fibers, and has since made it her goal to champion young and emerging artists. Kaylee has worked previously for the MassArt Art Museum (MAAM) and co-founded the alternative exhibition space House of Venus in 2019. She is passionate about fostering positive gallery relationships and experiences for artists, collectors and visitors. Hennessey has been a part of the Abigail Ogilvy Gallery team since 2018, and in 2023 she will open our second location in Los Angeles, CA.
